3 pt. conversion on WD-45

I'm looking for someone that has done this before. I'm going to convert my A/C WD-45 from 2pt. to 3 point hitch and want to know how big of a project I'm looking at and how long it will take. Tools, basic mechanical skills, and fabrication equipment are in good supply. Just need somebody with some experience.

Go to a farm store and leaf thru a copy of farm collector or antique power.. in there is a guy that has an ad to sell add on 3pt kits ofr the older green, orange and yellow and red tractors.

Check out what he did in the pics.. should give you some idea what you need to do.

I'll give that a try, thanks. I found a place that sells them pretty reasonable. Was just wondering if anybody here has done this. Looks like if I had to do something to a newer Kubota this is the place. But, me and my old junk.

Looks like a good place for you to use a bunch of cylinders instead of all those screw types.
Take some pictures, and if you decide to build ALL of it, instead of buying the kit, don't forget the pictures. If you buy the kit, do the pictures also.

I thought about making one, but for what they cost, it's not worth the time and cost of steel to build one. Guess they're made in China.

I'm definately going to do a hydraulic top link. I probably never would have done it except for reading about all you guys doing it. I don't know about doing cylinders on the other links. I could do it easily and cheap, but I don't think it's really necessary.

Geez David, you're really going to tax my hi-tech capabilities by asking for pics. I had a hard enough time figuring out how to do quotes in these posts. Funny thing is I have a 2 year degree in electronics. I have taken my computer apart just for the heck of it, but be darned if I can figure out the programming part.

I understand that part. I got a crash course in computers back in '90 when my daughter got a math game for Christmas that wouldn't run on my 433sx 'puter. It didn't have enough pixels and after two weeks of waiting, I got a friend to walk me thru it. He is 360 miles away, so seeing that they gave me two discs of disc two and marked them 1 and 2 was hard to tell. After a long day at work, then 5 hours of computers, I told him I would load everything up and see him in the morning. After breakfast and ten minutes, he had the problem fixed, but without the right discs, it was still a no-go. I called the store, and they said I could pay their overtime rate for immediate installation. I told them I would pay whatever they charged, provided they could do it with what they sold me. If not, I wanted it to be "free". They balked, but after I threatened a full page ad in the local newspaper, they agreed. They restricted me from the shop area, so I made them set it up in the front of the store where I could watch. After failing to install, they tried another box from the shelf. All 12 video cards on the store shelf had disc two labeled as disc 1.
Found out it didn't take a genius to open a box with a screwdriver and install some parts. Getting the software to work was the hard part.
If you want to post the pictures, between me and 3RRL, we can get you profiecent on that(he is the picture genius, I just fumble thru it) or you can email them to me and I will post them for you. I just learned the thumbnail trick, so am chomping at the bit to practice it some more. PM me if you want or need some help, be glad to do it.

Take your question over to the unofficial Allis Chalmers website, there you will find that A-C made such a conversion, if you post a wanted ad, you will find plenty available in Pa, after using one, if you are used to snap-coupler equipment, you will find that the old snap-coupler system is easier to connect to than the 3 point equipment. I started collecting snap coupler equipment years ago when it was cheap, now it gets more expensive at each estate sale! Good luck, that is a nice tractor.

edit: Oh, one more note: unless someone has rigged a low-pressure, 2 way hydraulic system to your tractor, you will find that: A. the system pressure (3500psi) is too high for modern cylinders, and B. its a one way hydraulic system. good luck, regardless!
