does anyone out there run a 7 1/2ft disc harrow on their ~35hp tractor?
i was on my way to work this morning and saw a harrow at the end of a driveway for sale (wasn't there last night) so i stopped to look. the old guy wanted almost nothing for it so i made an impulse purchase. seemed like a no brainer but now i wonder if it's too big. i can't recall the maufacturer (GB/Son's maybe) but it had CANADA stamped on the frame and the notched blades had INDIA stamped on them. the frame is fully boxed and the 4 arms are adjustable (i think 4 or 5 different options to adjust straight or angled -never seen that before on the KK and other's i've looked at).. The bearings are sealed didn't seem to show much of any play. he said his buddy had borrowed his other harrow and broke it so to make good he bought this harrow and gave it to the guy. he said it was too big for his 28hp tractor and never used it more than a day, he's now selling the property and pulled this out of the weeds. the frame has no rust on it (painted) but the disc's show some rust but no wear. i've priced new ones and know it would sell for close to $1200 retail and that's for the KK models. The advantage this has is the box frame and the adjustable angle.
Anyway, what do you think, is my L3400 going to have any problems pulling this harrow?
