Hi, I have been lurking on your website for some time now and have gained an encylcopedia of information from all the guys on this website. My question is more oriented to the theoretical than a specific problem that I have. Why is it that mid mounted grader blades are not available on tractors anymore? I have an old Farmall Cub with the mid mounted blade and it will grade circles around any other back blades, box blades or landscape rakes that I have used to grade my road. The cub has its limitations due to size and weight, but the fact that the blade is between the front and rear wheels seems to make all the difference in the world in getting all the imperfections out of the road. A larger blade on a larger tractor would solve all the world's problems.
Am I missing something here? Are there mid mount blades that are available for larger tractors? If they aren't made for modern tractors, why not? Is there an implement on the market that rivals a mid mounted blade?
Thanks,
Tom
