All was going well with my Farm Pro/Jinma Chipper until today. Ater using it for 5-6 hours without any problems, it broke today. One of the chipper blades broke while I was chipping 3-4 inch oaks that had been on the ground for two years. I'm just glad that the broken blade didn't destroy the chipper. I sent Homier Dist. an email since they offered a warranty with the chipper at the time of purchase.

I've been looking at those, since they are within driving distance of my place I could pick it up to avoid shipping charges. Let us know how things work out.

The Farm Pro chipper is the exact same chipper that Jinma is importing. I got a great deal on mine. I researched Homier Dist. under google and I found a few blogs about how this company will not honor any warranty. I've ordered blades from another source just in case. I will let you know. If you do purchase one, spend plenty of time checking ALL componets before using.

What do you think the blade actually broke??? wasnt a loose bolt holding it in? Possible one of those old oak limbs might have had nail or even a bullet in it. I take a good look to make sure that something else didnt cause this, you be suprised on how the obvious could be staring you right in face.

I had a Chinese one and had so many problems that I could not stand it. I bought a Echo Bearcat and love it. The quality is night and day.

I sell the Original Jinma chipper and service 99% of them before they leave.

They do need to be serviced prior to putting to work.

I find the blade gap out of adjustment on everyone. I have found on a couple where a little grinding was needed to allow the anvil to lay flat.

A picture of the broken blade was be nice/interesting if possible.

The blades/anvil are so hard they are brittle and must lay flat.

Mine broke before I even got a chance to put a branch in it. After all the tightening, adjusting, greasing, belt changing, longer pto shaft, etc., finally applied power & within 30 seconds the square head of the drum shaft snapped off & the transmission shaft twisted within itself. Just picked it up from the welding shop with some new mods & u-joint transmission shaft, put on a longer belt & will try it again today with fingers crossed. The anticipation is killing me.

Here are two pics of the chipper. I already had the blade welded and back on the machine when I took these pics. I spent several hours checking this chipper before I ever used it. I was chipping 3-4" oaks when it happened.

Good lookin chipper. Even with the broken blade, you'd have to admit its a great machine for the money. FWIW, on my old chipper, i had a machine shop make me new knives (4 inch) out of hardened tool steel. It cost me under thirty dollars (i gave then an original to copy). Just something to keep in mind should you have any more knife problems.

I'm chipping now. All is well for now.
