Just purchased a Woods chipper shredder 5000, used for $1100, with blower. Shredder works fine, but chipper blades very dull. Been looking at different wet wheel grinders, seen some bad reviews on the Delta sharpening center, so not sure about buying one..Anybody have any experience with the wet grinder sold buy Harbor Freight? It is half the price of the Delta,, Item #33867-OVGA, would appreciate any replies.

Kudos to you for wanting to invest the money to do it yourself. In the past i've had my knives sharpened at a local saw shop for $13.00. I'll be interested in what you come up with, as i could certainly see me doing the same. Much in the same way i invested in a chain grinder to do my own saw chains.

I decided that I didn't know how to sharpen the knives on my bearcat 70554 which is the same machine as your Woods 5000. I bought a second set of knives from the woods dealer (the Woods parts are cheaper then Bearcat). I take them to a pro sharpening shop and they come back beautifully sharp for $4 each. I don't know what kind of machine he uses but he always wants to show me how they will shave the hair off your arm. I tried the lawn mower shop but they butchered them up. Did you know that you can switch the knives from the inside and outside positions to get a little longer life out of them? Is the manual for the woods 5000 on the woods site?
