How do you know ...?
I don't actually. But - without the PEC spacer bar - my Cat 2 tractor with pin type sidelinks very seldom aligns properly for an inclined pickup. I don't have PEC on the Cat 1 tractor (turnbuckle type), wish I did though.

Based on your initial two-line comment, I was given no reason to believe you had sidehill experience. Matter of fact, reading your second statement - I still don't. Then again, you may consider a sidehill mounting attempt something different than do I.

I bought the bar from Pats, and really like it. The only problem I have is that I always have to go grab it.

My next project is to have a couple little hooks on the back of the tractor to hang it in out of the way, so it is right there on the back.

That said, my turnbuckles have enough slop in their mounting's that I just leave them there and use the Pats bar and it works out pretty well.

I sure do like the Pats every time I use it. Especially with the PHD.

I also have the L3400 with the turnbuckles outside of the arms. I talked with Pat about this and here is his advice.

Set the turnbuckles for your smallest attachment and let the bungie cord pull them together. Approach the attachment at a slight angle and the second arm will slide outwards as needed when it touches the implement.

After a few times I started to get the hang of it. (Slow learner I guess)

I keep making small adjustments to the turnbuckles to get a better fit.

The only dis-like today is with the snow blower. When I back up it will slide from side to side. I need to tighten the buckles some more.

Colorado Stan.

That sounds like a good idea. I will give it a shot.

You are getting closer though, when considering changing to the pin-type side links. I have one tractor that's turnbuckle style, and one that's pin-type. Of the two, I prefer the pin-type.

The last tractor I owned had turnbuckles. I just dealt with them. The tractor I have now has the pin type, much better. It will be somewhat costly, but you can retrofit the pin type adjusters to you tractor. Now that I have experience with both, if you can afford to part with the $, you should consider updating. Makes life much easier.
