Hi Fellow TBN Readers

I am interested in the 47" tiller manufactured by Sicma. I know they are manufactured in Italy that is about all!
Do you have one, if so are you happy with it? Any idea where I can find info on the tiller? It looks like a great buy for $850 compared to some other in the $1500-$2000 range. BUT do you get what you pay for???

Thanks for your help.

I don't have a Sicma tiller, I have a Sovema. However, I looked at Sicma when I was buying. The local dealer only had one in stock and it was too large for my tractor so I decided not to wait to order one in. I did do some homework on them though and they appear to be pretty decent tillers. Their website is Sicma Italy and it details the models of tillers available and the specs associated with each.

The weight of the tiller will give you a pretty good indication of how well it is built and how good of a job it will do (I'm sure some will disagree with that statement /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif) but ensure the size you get is within the weight capability of your tractor, not just the hp range.

I have a Sicma 47" tiller that is over 20 years old. (don't remember it's birthday). Purchased new and have used to break up rocky ground, rip roots and normal tilling. Yesterday I noticed the bearing where drive goes into gear box was wobbling. Removed the gear box in less than 30 minutes and will try to find new bearing today. Sicma home page has drawings and specs. Hope mine matches the info I have printed.
If I was looking for a tiller today I would not hesitate to go with Sicma.
They even answered my e-mail a while back and commented that I did not need to speak Italian since they speak English. I rate Sicma excelent.

Once again I attempted to EDIT my post and everything seemed to "lock up" Had to go off line and back on. Strange things are happening.

Here is my EDIT

Edit. next day went to bearing store picked up new bearings, they will have grease seal in the morning by 8AM (?) Should be back running by tomorrow afternoon. 3 cost $64.00

Just as a note Sicma home page indicates ZL-L as NEW
Mine has label ZL-L 120 47"
Is this enough said?

Thanks for the post I am almost ready to buy the Sicma. It just seems that everyone is asking $1500-$2000 for a tiller of the same size and weight, and this one is only $850.00. Not sure if everryone is just ripping you off or is this a poor tiller?? But based on your post and some others, perhaps it is worth it! Just need to hear a few more good stories like yours to push me over...LOL

GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!! just a week before I can start watching something good on TV!!!
