Show Me Your PTO Stump Grinder

I've decided i have a use for a PTO powered stump grinder. Do you have one? Are you satisfied with its performance? What brand do you have? These seem to be relatively rare in my area, and have yet to see one in stock at any area tractor dealer. Please post links to any manufacturers sites who make them !

First, I don't own one. But I've seen this kind (Worksaver) - a tree service had it on a 35 hp Ford tractor. No idea how durable the cutter head and gearbox are. The cutter wheel didn't seem to turn very fast - the tow-behind and self-propelled ones spin up pretty fast. Maybe somebody else has more experience. It worked ok - but the tree co. also has a big tow-behind that has a hydraulic telescoping hitch so the operator can feed it backward too in addition to side-to-side and up-down. That one ate a couple 4' pine stumps in about 20 minutes each - the little one would have been at it a couple hours.

I am very happy with mine, it is a powerful machine i can do a large [50"] hardwood in about 30 min. I weighs about 900lbs. so make sure you tractor can handle it.

There is money to be made with this unit and if you do it for a bussiness it is a good in you can talk to people about what else you do.

I have zero regrets with this unit. Shane

I have the shaver sc50. Very happy with it but I could grind much faster with more horsepower. They are about 7k new but you can find them a bit cheaper if you look a bit.
