Tiller Howard 3PT Tiller

Need info on tiller.

There is a Howard tiller model HR4-125SU I think its 72", it has very few hours (10-12) on it, probably 8 or so years old, clutch replaced around 5 hr. as a warrenty issue.

What level of quality is this equipment? Anyone have experience with one of these? Any idea of value? Need a range so as not to insult the owner or offer more than a reasonable value.

I have a NH 29TC super steer, can I handle this sort of tiller?

Howard tillers are very well made and tough tillers. Mine is close to 15 yrs old and still going strong.
If this tiller is a 72" and depending on soil conditions you are going to be pushing your 25hp pto tractor to the max or beyond!

I bought a Used HR6, It is probably 10 to 15 years old and while I think it is a little lighter that a King Kutter would be, it works fine for me. It is about 48" wide. I did at the time find a PDF copy of the parts manual out on the internet, But cannot seem to fine the site where I got it. If you Google "Howard Rotovator" you will get a bunch of hits. I did find some info on an HR41 that was 80". I think they do width classes within each model. My parts manual says you can get a HR6 in either 42 or 48", Might be HR61 or HR 62 respectively.

Howard is one of the top roto tiller companies in the world. I can not help you with the value of the one you are looking at but around here you don't usually find a Howard tiller for sale used as the farmers who have them keep them.
