I bent my brace arms on my King kutter box blade this weekend. Does anyone make a stronger lift and brace arms for these?
If no one makes a stronger unit does anyone know were I can get replacements and I will weld some braces.

Pictures? If they're not bent terribly badly you might get by with some oxyacetylene-assisted straightening and some bracing. With a coat of paint it shouldn't look too terrible.

They are bent and kind of look like a "J". I would say they are bent badly enough that fixing them isn't a real option.

If you have metal working tools, welder, torch, hammer...etc then you can build some new and improved arms that you could be proud of and won't bend as easy.

Other options are to take to someone to get it repaired or buy a heavier duty BB...Gannon/Woods or Cammond are two brands that come to mind that build industrial grade BBs.

You can order replacement arms from kingkutter.com . I bought some for implements I was making. They cost $29.52.

Out of curiosity... how'd you bend them into a 'J'.. blades and tractors aren't bulldozers.. and pushing in reverse really works them over. If you beef them up and are still doing stuff like that.. the next thing that brakes might be your tractor.

give us some ideas of what was going on.

I bent my KK BB at the lower arm pins when I caught a ripper on a root. Turned the upper brace arms into a pretzel. The BB weak point is that there was no support where the horizontal supports attach to the pins. I ordered new vertical supports from KK and welded in a piece of the old support under the pins. Never had a problem after that.

TomK, can you post another picture of what looks like extra weight on your BB. I am looking for some ideas to weight mine down more. Thanks

I bent the heck out of the arms on my light duty Agri-Fab box blade. Never bent them using it on a 3 point trailer behind a Yamaha Rhino but the BX24 with more pulling power will bend them;)

The Agri-Fab has now been replaced with a KK 4ft XB blade, which I haven't actually used yet to see if the BX can tear it up too:cool:

BTW-I used 25 lb weight lifting discs from WalMart to add weight to the Agri-Fab, had 3 of them stacked. They are easy to mount using the center bar hole.

I just welded a 1' section of galv. fence post on the back and stacked some Olympic weights, and rotors on that I wasn't using.
