Suggestions for pole boom?

They were $59 at my store until last weekend. I saw them in the sales flyer that comes out in the newspaper and went down and bought one at $49.

Bob,
I'd be interested in what you think of the new pole boom. I thought the cheap ones at the farm store looked cheap. I always wonder how that cheap stuff will hold up after a couple of years. I haven't seen pole booms pictured in the Agri Supply catalog either. If the new boom is rated for 2K it ought to be pretty sturdy but is it pretty? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Darned if I know.. I can't find a picture of it anywhere. It will be delivered early next week, so they say. As long as it's rugged enough, I can live without pretty.. but I'll let you know when it comes. I have a feeling it will probably be Red, which, when mixed with my Green tractor should have a Christmas sort of effect. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Bob,
Some are made out of square tube while others are round. The square I think, is rated much higher capacity. I bought a square one from TSC, it is red made by Wallace. See if this link works for you

Here's mine - 2400 lbs capacity - ordered from Ringo Hills Farm in Pennsylvania for $120 plus $25 shipping. Bit of overkill on my B2710.

pokbill,
To be honest I had no idea they made them rated at that kind of capacity. The common ones around here are 800lb and 1000lbs. Mine is 1000 lbs, which is way more than I needed, but I did use it with an auotmotive winch attached to it like a wrecker boom and pulled an 800 lb woodstove up out of my basement.

Chris,
Mine is the RED Wallace pole. Matches very well with the Yanmar

I thought it would be very handy to have a boat winch attached to the pole boom.
