I bought a new Kubota tractor about 6 months ago and the model I (L3400) bought didn't have the skidsteer style quick adaptor plate on the front loader. At the time I didn't think it was a big deal because on my previous tractors I always used the 3-point hitch for different attachments.
Well, times have changed...maybe showing my age, and I have now learned that there are many advatanges to having the quick connect front plate. Heck, on my old tractor I never took the bucket off in 20 years!
Anyway, I've seen a couple of the universal skidsteer style plate for sale and was wondering what the consenues is here? Any brand prefered, and why?
I'll weld the reciever cups on the bucket I have now and keep using it, but any/all of the new [front] attachments; grapple, bale spear, pallet forks, ect, will have the skidsteer style mount system.
One more question, using an "old style" auger mounted on the rear 3 point is a rough job, seems like I remember hanging weights on it. I realize they now make some little rams to help assist w/ down pressure. Has anyone used a true Bobcat style auger on the front of thier little tractor? Once I get the aux hydro's all mounted and fixed up like I want, I would think the front mount auger would dig as fast as you can push down on the joystick...any thoughts?
