Brown is right IF you want to mow trees. A 60 HP gearbox ISN'T "the heaviest bush hog" by any stretch. I know of several "MEDIUM DUTY" mowers with gear box's rated quite a bit beyond 60hp.

Try a Bush Hog (brand) 326 or 406 (heavy duty or EXTREME heavy duty) 190hp gearbox. ability to mow 3-1/2 to 4" dia. material. They're about as bullit-proof as a mower can be.

60 hp gear boxes are on light duty 6' units. Woods brushbull medium duty is 120 hp gear box and the heavy duty 7200 is 150 hp gear box. The medium duty with chains is about 1300# and the heavy is about 1500-1600 #. The Bushog cutters are about the same in specs.

The brown units are designed to cut trees. The 6' is "only" good for 6" diameter trees and weighs in at 2200#.

I have had real good luck with Rhino brushhogs. Their light duty model EC72 has a 60 hp gearbox and weighs in at approx 601 lbs and is meant for grass and weeds.
Thw CY 72 has a 150 hp box and weighs in at 1338 lbs. My sister and BIL have this one(or the model # it replaced) and haven't managed to break anything on it in the 3 years they have owned it.:D Believe me they have tried.
The GR 72 will cut 4" brush and weighs 1578 lbs and has a 150 hp gearbox.
There are also a couple of other 72" cut models listed in the catalog.
Here is the link to their online catalog.

72-96" Cut

Personally I am on my second batwing from Rhino.(A nieghbor is still using the first one, long story :( )They are great machines, if I was shopping for another one today they would be first on the list.

Do you realize that the DK40SE is only rated for 34 PTO horsepower? You're really nowhere near true heavy duty rotary cutter territory. If it was my new tractor AND I anticipated some really tough rotary cutter jobs - I'd be inclined to think five footer. I'm thinkin' 34 horses are a few ponies short of pulling heavy duty rotary cutter duty
