Rear Finishing Mower ...BEFCO & Frontier the same??

I went to the National Farm Machinery show last week in Louisville. I was researching finishing mowers for my 3720 deere. I was extremely impressed with the units there made by BEFCO. Appeared to be heavier duty than the landpride, woods, rhino, etc... models on display. Just my opinion...not trying to start a war!

Anyway, I have a couple of attachments from Frontier, which I am very pleased with, so I thought I would just look to see what they have to offer. They have two different models in most sizes. One is lighter duty and looks like the industry standard, but one is a perfect match to the BEFCO units I saw last week. Going thru the specs, they read identical line after line.

I had heard that Frontier just finishes out other manufacturers equipment to sell thru Deere dealers, but now I am convinced!

I thought that Woods made Frontier's finishing mowers... I know that the ones that I looked at last summer were woods units.

Possibly they have changed suppliers?

My GM1072R rear finish mower is definitely a Woods model, painted green. However, I think the 20 series Frontier RFM's might be made by Befco. My Frontier RC1060 rotary cutter is made by Midwest Equipment.

I rented a Woods Core aerator last year from a dealer that was also a Befco dealer. When I went around back to their yard to pick up the unit I got check out first hand a lot of the Befco implements. I was able to compare to my Land Pride stuff the Befco rack, PHD, blade, and a couple other things. Since then I have been convice that all of my general use implements will be Befco. The were as heavy duty as Woods and Land Pride but not as expensive. I was impressed . . . plus they are orange.

I have been extremely pleased with the Befco 48" RM purchased last year. They build top notch implements -- IMO

You are right. The 10xx series are supplied by Woods, and the 20xx are made by BEFCO. The price difference in the 84" rear finish mower models...$14! No Joke! My dealer said that they have gone to two suppliers on a lot of attachments to avoid production delays.
