Good Morning All
Need to make a decision soon, my grass is growing fast.

#1 - Woods Heritage RD72 - $1810.00, good local dealer, will deliver free.
#2 - Land Pride Patriot FDR1672 - $1695.00, dealer 60 miles away.

Both are the (light) standard-duty 6' models, specs about the same.
Woods - 603 lbs
Land Pride - 619 lbs
Is the Woods Heritage a good mower?
I have read good things about Woods in general, but not the Heritage.
I have read good and bad things about the Land Pride.

The two local Land Pride (bad dealers) both want $2000.00 for thier FDR1672 mowers.
Another option Brush Hog 72" $1900.00 local dealer.

Thanks in advance
Danny

By reading your post, it seems you are already leaning towards the Woods. All I can give you is my opinion based on experience. I own a 72" Land Pride Patriot. I have owned it for 3 years, and have maintained many acres with it, including a rather large pond levy, and other hilly and uneven ground. I have definitely pushed it to it's limits, I mow over about everything with it. I have yet to have one problem with it. It is very well built, and very user friendly. All of the lube points are easy accesss, the deck is heavy, the wheel supports are heavy, the deck height adjustments are easy, the blades are good and heavy, I do not have one complaint about the Land Pride. And one more thing, it provides a beautiful cut. As far as the Woods, I have friends that own them and LOVE them, no complaints, a great quality product. In my opinion, you are making a choice between the two best built/highest quality finish mowers out there, so flip a coin!

I also have a Landpride 1672. It's been great so far. The other 2 choices you have are also good. I don't think you'll be unhappy with any of the 3.

I have a Land Pride 60" finish mower. Very happy with it. Same dealer that I bought my Kubota from, still like them too.
If the products are very close in other respects I would go with the dealer I liked best, that way if there should be any problems later you will get some help to resolve them.

I purchased a Woods heritage RD60 grooming mower a year ago. The main problem I had is the belt can jump off the pully and burn up the belt. This happens when restarting the mower after use when belt is hot. The dealer gave me a keeper bracket and a new belt under waranty, but I had to install it. Also on uneven ground the mower did scalp the grass. I had to buy the optional center roller kit. After fixing these problems the mower proforms good.
