I've bought 2 quick hitches lately and brought both back. First was from HF and wouldn't make up to my Box Blade and was made pretty cheap. Got another from TSC and was a Speeco brand built alot better but I found out after I got it home you had to buy bushings for all your attachments. This, to me is a marketing ploy to make you buy all these bushings for anything you have to hook up to it. Why can't the company make the thing where you don't have to use those bushings.  Am I wrong in my thinking or what?  This kinda junk irritates me to no end and kinda makes me want to steer clear of anything a company sells even if it is a good product.

I think you need bushings for all the quick hitchs . My Jd I match quick hitch needs bushings , I just move them to the implement I am using at that time.

I think the standard for attachments lower arms are 3/4" The HF QH is 3/4" I think Buhler has another. I see absolutly no need to have to use bushings when they can make the opening on the QH a shade bigger than 3/4" and forget the bushings.

I've got a HF quick hitch. Don't need bushings. I did buy the optional top link though as some of my implements won't easily hook to the quick hitch top link hook.

Lower lift pins on Cat 1 implements are 7/8" diameter, Cat 2 are 1-1/8". A typical entry level quick hitch (like the HF and the SpeeCo) has Cat 2 lower lift hooks. No lower bushings required to lift Cat 2 implements, install bushings to lift Cat 1 implements.

I really don't know what the issue is though. Bushings don't even cost a buck and a half a pair - cheaper if you make them yourself. BUSHINGS - Agri Supply

I had a landpride qh that didn't need bushings for cat 1 and was very well made. (Also think it was over $200 if I recall correctly). Sold it when I bought Pats easy change unit which works even better than a qh though I wouldn't be without one or the other.

I have 2 quick hitches the land pride and the Harbor Freight model. You can use them without bushings in implements that have a captive lower link ( you slide a pin thru a ear then the quick hitch then another ear). Implements that have a bolted in place pin you should use the bushings to keep them on the quick hitch as they have a shoulder to keep them from sliding out of the hitch arms. They will work on most implements with out bushings but have a lot of play rattle and you will have a hard time holding a set height because of the play.

Just order the Pats Easy Change, available link on this site, and stop the hassle, although you still have to connect the top link. Works with everything I use no matter the width, even works with a post hole digger. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just have a set and they work for me.

I have the land pride quick hitch, it comes with bushings. I rarely use it, i just dont like anything between the hitch & the implement. Perhaps its my imagination, but it seems implements dont perform as well using the quick hitch?
