Is it just my Imagination, or have the prices really escalated at Tractor Supply. I was in there today and got a sale paper which the sale starts next week. I get home and go online and the prices are the same online as they will be when the sale starts. It seems like everything recently got marked up by about 15% and then they'll give you a 10% discount if you open an account. You could have shot a cannon off in there and not hit anyone today. Kind of disappointing because I used to like to spend money there but many Common items are much cheaper elsewhere and the same quality. What's your take if you've been there lately???

Price of steel and fuel are up.. I suspect that adds a little bit to everything..

I'm looking at a couple implements to buy... and wanting to wait.. but fear if I wait.. I'll pay more later.. ho-hum!

I won't just pick on TSC, but I've noticed the price of feed and whole corn seems to be up by as much as 1/3. $7.75 for 50 lb of corn and $17.95 for a 50 lb bag of sunflower seeds. Goat food, catfish food, and dog food also are up. Those prices are anywhere: Wally World, feed store, and Sam's. My wife even pointed out to me that our garbage collection has a $10 per month fuel surcharge added. The only thing cheap around here is hay. I see hundreds of nice round bales still in the fields as I drive to work each day. Maybe at $20 per bale it's not worth it to get them out of the field.

You ain't just whistli' dixie... I just went to the feed co-op and bought my load this month.. i like to buy 1000-2000# at a time to get a discount... hog and chix feed were 9.XX a bag.. and corn near same as your price... I about fell over.

I can only buy 30 bags now for what used to cost me 40 bags just a year or two ago!!

A lot of things at TSC are expensive and some things are as cheap as you can order on the internet with shipping. The thing that got me was that a month or so ago they were selling a 5 gallon can of kerosene for over $38. That's pretty close to $8/gal. The filling station just up the road at that time was selling it at $3.85/gal. It's hard to justify that price difference. These days I find I selectively shop at TSC.

The extra was for the 5-gal bucket.:p

Jinman, Up here small square bail hay is bringing $10 each. A load of your round bails might pay for your feed for a year.

Jim you know the extra at "our" TSC was not for the pail., it was for all the great service and expert advice we get from the staff.

Try farming for real this year - yikes. Fert, fuel, anything made of steel or rubber, feed, anything that is heavy & needs to be hauled a ways.... It's all up a lot.

Seed is up & in short supply, herbicides are in _very_ short supply, Roundup & generics have gone up several times in the last 3 months - big jumps.

Crazy. We all feel it. If you still find something cheap at an out of the way store - it won't be for much longer.

Selling grain right now is pretty good money, but wow trying to put a crop in the ground this summer we really feel the price hikes too!

The other thing I noticed is that TSC has a new company providing attachments that are painted in KK's colors but are NOT KK manufactured attachments...
