Mackissic TH122 will this grind up sweet gum balls?

I am looking for a chipper/shredder for my BX23 that will grind/shred up what we commonly refer to as "monkey balls" here in delaware. Will this machine accomplish that or can anyone else suggest a better machine?
I have tried the DR chipper/shredder but all it did was roll the ball around and kick it out looking like a smooth golf ball.
