I have just purchased a Harbor frieght quick hitch, and i have a few questions.

first, do i need any kind of bushings for the lower pins.

also the top hook does not work on alot of my impliments but in the instructions it says there is an optional adapter, where do i get this adapter i have not been able to find it on the hf site.

also has any one used this on a KK tiller ?

i would appreciate the help.

I haven't found the need to use bushings on any of my attachments, don't own a 3pt tiller. I did buy the toplink adapter, it's not in the catalog or web page. Call their customer service and ask for Item #29309, Description "93691 Hitch Adapter.
From their web site: You can call and speak to a Customer Service Representative Monday-Friday 9:00 - 5:30 EST at 1-800-444-3353 (toll free).

Yes, you need CAT 1 to CAT 2 bushings for the pins. Don't worry about getting anything fancy, any CAT 1 to CAT 2 adapter bushing will do.

The only way to get the optional adapter is to call Harbor Freight to order it. They don't list it on their web site, which is ridiculous IMO.

Digging up an old thread to see if someone can post a photo of the adaptor that is talk about in the second post. I called the number and it's on backorder until May 8th 2009... I was thinking of making my own anyway but was thinking of going a different route but would like to see the adaptor (vers. the drawing).

PS. I wish I read the link in the above thread... I don't think I would have bought this... but like people said, you get what you pay for & the price was right.

On EDIT:
Thanks Stargazer (below) for the TSC tip and a link to the photo: http://www.tractorsupply.com/wcssto...ontAssetStore/images/products/600/0267563.jpg

That is a WHOLE LOT more metal!!! (with a price tag to go with it :)) Already thinking of what I may beef up on the Horrible Fright one I bought!! I guess they are holding up as is??? Anyone with problems?? Other then fit...

If you have a tractor supply store close go there and look at their version of the quick hitch. Last fall mine had the adapter wired to top link. Looked like a U with a tail on bottom with holes in both ends. If memory serves me the company that sells the bags of gold hitch pins etc also had the adapter for about $15 but was hard to find on the web site. I need to round up 1 of these also for self.

I also thought it would be easy to make but it only costs $8... the way I work I'd probably use $10 worth of oxygen.. lol

I thought about making one till I discovered the price. Two funny things when I got it -- it was sent in a box with a whole bunch of air bags that made the parcel about 10 times larger than it needed to be (guess so that chunk of steel would not be damaged by the courier throwing the box ) -- then if you look at the picture carefully you will see the part that holds the implement pin is a built up weld of over a quarter inch -- thought it was kind of a weird way to make it but I guess if welding labour is cheap it makes sense:eek:
