This is a rig a guy made in England. I'm going back to heating the shop with wood, have been researching firewood processors, splitters, saws, etc that I can power with my tractor. This caught my eye. OSHA would have a ball with this one. Pay particular attention to where the saw dust is being deposited.

OMG, I can't believe he even got that many logs done. I've used 3pt log saws with guards and pivots to hold the logs and they scare the **** out of me. I would never go near this one.

Timber thats similiar to the one im using except mine has the PTO shaft.does a good job, but yes I sure give it respect, soldi footing is a must with it, even with he guards.

Yea I think the one we has was PTO driven too but other than that it was Identical. I have too admit I would love to have one now but I was so scared of that thing as a boy even the sound it made when that blade was at speed. Nothing cuts cord wood faster though

When I was a kid we had an older version of the same thing that was shared among all the neighbours. It had a hardwood frame, was skid mounted and was driven by a long belt from the tractor. I think it originally was driven by a belt from a stationary engine. I too was always scared of that thing.

The skid mount belt drive was common when I was a kid. the neighbours used to get together so there were usually at least three fellows on one log. That made it much easier.:D :D

The fellow in England needs a sharpening job on his blade!

Timber to be more exact her is a link to the one I have and use.
I bought it for 750 dollars about 16 plus years ago. its almost doubled in price now. They have added a piece of metal to the table where it runs down next to the blade. I will add one to mine. Ive had wood get caught down in that spot. I do find this to be safer than trying to cut the small stuff myself.
