Where I have my 3pt blower stored for the summer is under cover, however the end of the P.T.O. shaft is hanging out from under the roof. I figured an easy fix would be to just remove it from the blower. I removed what I'm assuming is a shear bolt, loosed the set screw and it wouldn't budge. After further inspection I see it's keyed to the shaft of the blower. I ended up re-assembling everything for the time being, but my question is why is there a key AND a shear bolt? Won't the key defeat the purpose of the bolt? I say this is a shear bolt because this is the bolt my dealer looked at reference when I told him I had taken it out. The one I broke was up near the tractor P.T.O. shaft. The P.T.O. is a Comer, from Italy. Thanks.
