I made this over the weekend. It's a piece of 3inch sch.40 with 1-1/4" sch 40 passing through.

Nice Job. Simple, and looks like you used bolts for the lower pins. I'm betting the cost was almost nill. Just my way.I used to use bolts, after I priced them locally here, but found Agri -supply they were cheap. Bought quite a few for projects.

I would say that nil is pretty close, if you consider using stuff thats just laying around. The reese hitch was 15 years old and un-useable. I had cut it to fit and old small truck bumper and took it off of the truck when I sold it. The bolts are t-bolts used for making connections on M.J. fittings used on underground pipe. Those are 3/4", probaly the weak link here.
The electricity to facilitate the welds is going to be the most costly part of this endeavor.
