I don't own one, but use one at my job. I love it. It is excellent. Their claims of being able to use it on bare soil and on existing turf are true. I recomend it. Especially because compared to other tractor pulled options like slice seeders etc..., this is quite cheep.

Used an STR60-2 just yesterday. Rented it from a local rental outlet to do some overseeding (and a little new seeding) of our new lawn (planted from scratch this spring)...

I thought it did a nice job. The areas that were new seeding were especially nicely worked and planted. I guess going in, I thought it would have been more agressive at tearing up existing grass than it was, which is ok. I left it set at the most angle on the front rollers and it didn't chew up the existing grass too bad at all. The pics are all taken after I'd run it over the whole lawn, so you can tell that it doesn't detroy a lawn, even with the front rollers set aggressively...

I will say that the 5' model (STR60) with seeder is about all my 2320 wanted to deal with. Had to leave the loader on for ballast to keep the front end down (ran most of the lawn with the bucket off though, had to put it back on towards the end to smooth out a spot before seeding over it...) Without the loader on, any forward movement brought the front end off the ground (with the seeder raised) It was also a healthy pull with those front rollers angled like that, especially up any sort of slope...
