Datvik, what are the side shift capabilities?

My 60" is offset 8", sticks out to the right of the tractor about 5", but there is a second position available to mount the tower to that would move it to the left 5" placing the outside housing directly behind and even with the track of the rear tire. I believe the 64" offered a 12" offset, I don't know what the 68" mower has.

As it is I am wide enough so that navigating the barn door can be a challange, so it is good I didn't go wider with the mower; that said it is difficult to see the edge of the mower while doing close work. In other words, if it wasn't for the narrow barn door an extra 8" would sure be nice.

Happy waiting! ;)

thanks for the info and yep I am looking forward to it. My 72" MMM can make it through the shed door, so I think i am fine. I just gotta get the Shed Door Raised about 4 inches to get the tractor in the shed! I hope that I don't have to deflate the tires to get it to work first!

BTW, what a solid wall on that barn, isn't that brick/stone?

BTW, the BETST folks indicated that got a commercial version and a version with a Hydraulice side shift undegoing testing and will be available post-testing.

Their backhoes do not have a good reputation.

BTW, IslandT, what did you hear or see about them? As I was thinking about the chipper and maybe a backhowe in the future?

Was this someone on the forum that posted a message I can read?

Hmm.. well, I pulled the trigger on the Caroni. A bit more of a known quantity, it was helpful to hear about the bearings & needing to grease religiously, thanks. After looking them over as carefully as I could with the pictures, just seemed like the Caroni is probably a little more refined, and the Italians are not communists at least ;-)

Plus an extra 5 inches cutting width.

Another fine wallet emptying TBN has done on me.. ;)

wikipedia break starts
The Italians have 41 of 641 seats of their parliament occupied by commies:eek:

Communist Refoundation Party (Rifondazione Comunista) 2,229,604 5.83 41

Ok back to the serious stuff.

Isn't that actually only 3 more inches of cutting width? When I spoke with AgriSupply they indicated that the Caroni has a 72" cutting width with a 74" overall width? dunno, but at only $975 bucks:rolleyes:, I decided to go the cheaper route for now.

My guess is the three point attachment is not such a good idea.....

Yeah, that could be it too.

Fine choice. I like my commi flail just fine, but I am a real cheapie and I seriously recommend proceding with caution with these Hanmey products. That said, I bought a King Kutter boxblade with my savings, and still have enough left over for a toothbar :)
