I heard a story of a large CA lettuce farmer moving his operation to Mexico because of the difficulty of getting migrant workers across the border...I guess he doesn't know enough coyotes...:rolleyes:

could be true, or perhaps he was forced by HIGH taxes imposed by the feds to move. next time you have a glass of OJ, think about how the oranges are picked, sames true with apples, machine harvesting puts the trees into shock and most berry crops are hand picked, manual labor is alive and well in farming today. But none of this has anything to do with my question and I really would like to hear from folks with experience with alfalfa
