I'm wanting to get an 8'-10' pull type Brillion seeder with the dual cultipackers. Don't know much about them but I searched tractorhouse.com and the prices I'm getting there are a LOT better than what a used equipment place was trying to get on some that were VERY used. Any body have any experience with them??? What's the going rate on an 8' or 10' like I've described, new or used....

I have a land pride 6' 3pt which has been good and remember the 10' LP being 6k something, the brillions are probly better.

I have been watching these units for about 9 months. The good ones tend to be fairly expensive, but in order to answer you question I need to know what model you are looking at. I went to tractorhouse and the ones listed there are generally in line with what I have been seeing. My best advise is not to get in a hurry and wait until you see a good one. I have seen some very good ones in northern Michigan that sold for very reasonable prices (as low as $1400), but that is the exception - - - not the rule. Unfortunately, I didn't want to drive 12 hours to get one. I don't need one that bad.

i have an old (50's, 60's ?) 6 footer on 3pt hitch.the new ones look to be built almost exactly the same. A beautiful piece of equipment. Keep some grease on it and you can pass it on to the grandkids. Mike

A brillion seeder would really work well on my farm. They can be really pricey.... I found a Valmar air seeder that a neighbor just gave me as he does not use it any more. It needs work but not bad. Now I want to find just a brillion packer. If you pull the packer and seeder together you can put in 200 acres of alfalfa in a day. A 12 hole Valmar will seed a 28 foot swat. They also made a 16 hole machine. Most of these can be picked up really cheap on a farm sale. The Valmar people have been really helpful. The downside that I have found are that you cannot put in a cover crop with this setup, and the packer depending upon size, is more money than just a brillion seeder.
