Hi folks,

HF has their 1740# "super capacity" 4x8 tilt bed trailer on sale for $299 (SKU 94564). I've been thinking about one like this for hauling miscellaneous junk and an ocasional load of fill dirt. Anyone have any experience with the HF "Haul Master" trailers? I figure even if it's really bad, some real tires, some angle iron and a stick welder would make it right!

Appears to be a good trailer, double check everything and grease your wheel bearings with a good quality grease and bolt your 3/4 plywood down real good

I've got the 1000# trailer with 12" wheels that folds in half and stands on end. It has a pretty light gage frame, but I'm sure that if you respect the load rating and evenly distribute the weight, it is a good value. It was easy to assemble and all the parts were there. Comes in a very compact box which I was able to put in the back of my Escape.

So far, I'm happy with mine, but I only use it occasionally and don't haul much weight .

If you have craiglist in your area, you might be able to find a more heavy duty trailer for about the same money, used.

Be careful hauling dirt - the weight climbs fast!
