When I pick up my bush hog high enough, it'll actualy hit the rear tires. Is this right. I wouldn't think it should.

I moved the top link to the bottom hole (from the advice on here, thanks!) and that allowed me to actually pick the bush hog wheel off of the ground- it wasn't before.

In looking at King Kutter's website, their bush hog looks like the forward lifting frame is perpendicular to the mower deck. Where as mine looks to be bent. Would this throw it off?

If you can, study out the pics and tell me what I'm doing wrong. What are all of these other adjustments; the two holes for the top link, why do the lift arms have places to mount them on the bottom and top of the axle, what are the other holes for in the lift arms, anything else you can help me with? My old 8N didn't have near as many settings.......or it didn't seem as complicated....

I believe you have telescoping stabilizer bars that can be extended away from your tires.

Honestly, I'm not sure what those do. I thought they were to keep the lift arms from swinging over and hitting the tires.....

In the 3rd picture it appears that the lifting frame is tilted back toward the mower -it should be perpendicular to the deck. Also the lift arm pins look too high. Lift arms should be level or slightly down toward the mower when mowing. Will the lift pins fit where the lower bolts attach the lifting frame to the mower deck? Are the diagonal braces on the lift frame original equipment or something someone added or modified later? Also looks like you're missing the piece on top of the lifting frame -King Cutter has 3 pins -you have 2. Your setup won't let the rear of the mower lift if your rear wheels go into a dip or transition up a hill. MikeD74T

Correct, I thought the lift arms extended, my mistake.

Given the way the 3ph part looks in the 4th frame, (kind of bowed away from the tractor) it looks like you could just take it apart and swap sides so that the most bowed out section is toward the tractor which would push the body of the cutter back. Of course I am just going on the way the photo looks at the angle presented. Do you happen to have a side shot that is straight across?

It surely looks to me as well that those lower lift arms should be able to telescope several more inches. But that's more of a workaround, because the basic problems are clearly on the A-frame: (1) the implement pins are in the wrong holes, (2) the A-frame itself is twisted.

Take the A-frame off the deck, take it to a machine shop for straightening. Buy two new lift pins. When you reassemble, put the new pins in the bottom holes. Use the bolts they replace to fasten the vertical braces.

And the flexible toplink bracket is missing. Get a replacement, and consider a proper toplink pin while you're at it.

I think the hitch pins on the "brush hog" should be in the lower holes, not the upper holes. That way the lift ams would be parallel to the ground not pointing up. Does that make sense?
