I've had a JD Ballast Box on my 3520 since new and it goes on and off the iMatch without issue. I pick it up and drop it off from ground level without a problem. I've just added a Wallenstein BX42 chipper to my implement list and I couldn't get the unit off the pallet it came on without raising it up. Seems I couldn't drop the 3Pt down low enough to get under the attach points, even on the pallet. I finally got some more boards under it, and am now able to take it on and off this raised platform, but just doesn't seem like it should be that way. I checked in my manual to see if I could adjust the low end height of the rock shaft, but found nothing beyond 'how" to raise & lower. Am I doomed to always have to make "parking stands" for my implements?

I can't really visualize you trouble, but you may need to use stands anyway because of the PTO shaft angle-you want it as straight as possible when it's sitting on the ground.

Not a shaft problem. Place chipper on level ground, back tractor up to chipper on same level ground, drop 3PT/iMatch to lowest setting, the hooks on the iMatch are about 6" above the attachement pins on the chipper - thus can't really attach to the tractor without raising the chipper off the ground. Would be more desireable to be able to drop the iMatch down another 6".

I dont have the chipper you are referring to, but this did "happen" to my 3520 Cab....When I bought it (new) and they brought it in for the pre-delivery cleanup/touches and to install the radio in the cab...the tech told & showed me that he had to do a 3pt adjustement..It would raise to the correct height, but the link ends wouldnt go closer then 12-14" from the floor at the lowest setting...seriously not much travel at all...He said he had seen exactly this on many 3x20's and all he had to do was adjust the control cable correctly. Now my link ends almost touch the ground and raise all the way up...
Tonight when I get home I can measure how close exactly I can get to the floor if it would help...

Spudland_Dave,

Excellent. That is what I was hoping someone would say. Now I'll go snooping around the linkage to see where it leads, as the 12-14" is just the situation I'm dealing with. The manual made no reference to what the upper or lower points should be or if they could be changed period. Thanks for the input - really valuable.

No problem...
One thing the tech did tell me was that you gotta adjust it "correctly" basically meaning in the right sequence....Dont quote me on this i might have confused this...I also have a Cab model, so it may be different...but I want to say he said you first gotta adjust the cable travel AT the control lever....THEN you adjust it at the other end.
All I know is my tractor had .2 hours on it and came like that. I seen it before & after and there is a huge difference. The way he made it sound was this is very common. I think his exact words is "every other one we get is like this"...
