I think a lot of it has to do with the region you live in.

Befco (NC), which I've owned in the past while living in New England, is not available out here. Midwest (IL) isn't well represented out here, either, and I can no longer purchase direct from them, as I was able to a few years ago.

Woods (IL), Rhino (TX), and Landpride (KS) are readily available out here, and many dealers seem to have quite a bit of fresh stock at any given time, so it appears that those brands move pretty well out here. Pricing is also quite reasonable for the quality.

More and more, with fuel prices heading higher, and more than likely, staying that way for years to come, freight is going to become a real big factor in what products we can and can't purchase, or how long we have to wait while the dealer can put together a larger order to combat the fuel charges. Unfortunately, we may have seen the end of the days when products could be shipped across the country and a manufacturer could sell in all 48 contiguous states for essentially the same price.

FWIW - I live in SE Minnesota and I just bought a befco tiller from the Kubota/NewHolland dealer. They seem to carry severl things from them. It seems to be a very well built unit.
