How good is a Danuser 3pt posthole auger? The dealer has one on consignment it's two years old and has barely been used--looks brand new. It has a 12" auger and pto shaft. He said it cost about $2500.00 new and he is asking $950.00 is this a fair price? Thanks for any help

Gorden,
Danuser is the best auger on the market. A year ago I priced the F-8 model at about $2000, it may list for $2500 . Its the top of the line. If the gear box is still tight I would buy it for that price.

Gordon - I think that's a good price. Danuser makes the best diggers and augers there are, in my opinion. And they're priced to reflect that. I've got their F8 digger and the 18"/30" step auger.

Ship directly to my address......

If it is an F8, there is no better on the market. Usually the augers are also quite heavy duty, too.

Thanks for the insight I offered $800.00 for it today and he is going to call the owner on it. So I should have an answer on Mon or Tues. The unit has only been used a few times so I believe its worth the asking price without a doubt but if I can get if for less I sure will!!! If not I'll go higher.
I almost forgot to add its model F-8

Gordon, did you get the post hole auger? If not, look at ebay:

Danuser 9" Post Hole Digger Item #467339501
This Danuser 9" Posthole digger is only 1 year old, has hardly been used. Looks almost brand new, we only dug about 50 holes holes with it. This posthole digger cost about $1200.00 a year ago. It is also equiped with a special digger head for use in hard ground or shale, with replacable cutting teeth. It mounts on a 3 point hitch and is hydraulic powered.
I thought about your post when I saw this. Seems as if price is at 470... or there abouts.

Thanks for thinking of me Scruffy. But I got the Danuser for $800. after alot of bickering back and fourth. I couldn't passs that one up for that price and it's pretty well bullet proof in the way it's built so it's perfect for me. I actually would have paid the asking price but why if you can get it for alittle less. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
But I'll keep an eye on that just to see what it goes for. The sad part about it is it's located in PA usually when I see something heavy on E-bay it's located on the west coast and goes for a song.

Gordon, so far, that has been my experience with ebay and 3pt accessories. Seen a few good deals, but when you factor in freight charges...forget it. Ain't nuttin out there that I really need, just what I want to have for future use. Someday, something will pop up in my region, and I'll go for it.
