Just wondering if any one out there knows if the Older Woods BH's are the same as the new Kioti Backhoes? Iv been researching BH's for my 2120, in all the research iv done online from what I can see, they look very much alike. I havent had a chance to look at them side by side and only in photos online. Looking at the price of a new Woods BH80 puts a bit of a hurting in the wallet, and still haven't gotten a price yet on a Kioti KB2385 to compare the prices yet. Though if the Kioti BH's are built the same as the Woods older BH's they might be a good BH.. Any one have any thoughts or knowledge about this?

The KB2385 is the older version of Kioti's BH with straight arms, the newer version is KB2485 with the curved arms. There are several plus's to the newer Kioti BH's. Both are good BH's, the Woods are set up to have a thumb installed, on the Kioti they are addon's. The Woods BH80 has a control to vary the swing speed of the BH, the Kioti does not. Some folks like the Woods mount better, some like the Kioti mount better.
Some food for thought, but no real answer to your question.

Thanks for the info Jim, It is a nice option to have the speed control on the BH to help prevent side slap, I havent operated a Kioti BH as of yet, so I dont know how jerky or smooth they are. This morning Ill call the nearest dealer to price the Kioti out and see if they even have a subframe for the 2120. Its not an easy task trying to find the best BH for the buck.
Thanks for the input :)

JKGME:

Neither of the hoes I currently use (B21 and Prairie Dog) have any "sideslap"
even though they have no swing speed control. I have the flow control
valves here to install swing speed control but I decided against it. The big
reason is I liked how fast the swing speed was when I recently dug 500
feet of trench. Fine control for positioning the boom is accomplished by
using another function simultaneously with the swing function. Also, for
both hoes, as the boom swings farther to the side, one of the swing cyl
rods goes over the centerline of the pivot, slowing things down dramatically.

I have only seen photos one of the new Kioti curvy boom hoes, but I
doubt that they share anything with one of the Woods units.
