Howse "Import" Finish Mower Questions

Me and a friend went shopping for a used 6' finish mower. Stopped at a used implement dealer, and he had none in the yard. He did have new Howse finish mowers. On close inspection, I wasn't real impressed with the design. Then I spied what I thought was a Bush Hog finish mower. It turned out to be a new Howse "Import" mower. It looked pretty solid, and was a reasonable facsimile of a Bush Hog. The $975 price further intrigued me, and I'm debating on actually buying it.

Has anyone owned or used one? At this point, 2nd or 3rd hand information would be helpful. If real info is thin, I'll even accept rumors and gossip.

Looks like it isn't imported by Howse. Still not sure.

I think those are the same ones sold by Cormier? distributing, that I've seen on ebay. I'd look for a name brand.

Howse makes theres in Laurel, MS. I called them when I was looking for one. The guy said he'd cut me a deal of $1750 on a factory second. I said no thanks. Understandably the plant is priced higher than dealers.

Done a lot of googling around, and it looks like Farm Pro and Sitrex.
