Default KK 5-foot Tiller - Neatest Implement Yet!

Of course that'd apply to any other tiller too, but I'm very pleased with the new tiller! My Kioti CK25 gear pulls it just fine. I worked up a 40'x80' garden twice in about 20 minutes, not counting time to unravel the galvanized pipe bean poles from the tines (no damage, only 'character' and I figured out the slip clutch works just about right).

I'd disked (some places double disked) several acres of old field vegetation (predominately goldenrod with some multiflora rose, grape, tartarian honeysuckle, and gray dogwood) with a KK 6 1/2' box frame disc with mixed results. Went at it with the tiller and, holy cow, what a nice seed bed! I went on to tiller up un-disked areas with no problem. Dogwoods up to a half inch or so were just mulched in. Very impressive. I did not try to till up larger woody stuff but it'd be tempting if I had someone else's equipment.

I did have to keep it in first gear & 4 WD for the first pass out in the field but that wasn't a surprise given the early-ness of the season and time since anyone's done anything with that field. Second pass the tractor would pull it handily in second and 2 WD. Rocks (mostly fist-sized glacial cobbles) do make some racket and added more 'character' but I can't see any harm to the tines.

Of course I ended up thinking that about 10 more horsepower would have been just the ticket . . .
