I've been trying to source a box blade for use with my B7100 for the last couple of weeks now. Local suppliers and further afield. Most all of the replies I've got back is the "box blade" is not commercially available in europe? Something about not having european certification, like CE certification governing safety requirements?

I am stunned with this. I didnt think there would be a problem with getting one? How dengerous can a box blade be when compared to all the other implements out there... I can get a 1.5metre (5ft) King Kutter XB rear blade in NorthernTool.UK alright but I kinda liked the idea of having the ripper teeth out front to pre work the soil surface before the blade got to it...

Would the KK blade be "almost" as good as the boxblade? Would my B7100 be up to pulling a 5ft King Kutter?

Your 7100 will pull the 5 ft blade my BX 22 does. However the blade will not do the kind of work a boxblade will. The straight blade works OK for loose dirt gravel but will not breakup ground like a box does with its rippers and it won't move the dirt and fill in depressions like a box does. I do not ever recall seeing a box blade in Europe when I was there but surely they must have something similar.

I am guessing that Europeans use a leveling harrow as seen here instead of boxblades.

I know that I have never seen a BB in our area of Europe. But then there are not that many implements at all here for the smaller tractors. There is a Kubota dealer not too far from me, but I have never seen some of those implements on that kubota site! They are also importing some tractors and equipment from Italy.

That is why I made my own--however I did not choose the simple box, but rather the more complicated rollover box. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/99596-rollover-scraper-minimum.html

If you want a box blade why do you not just make it for yourself--that way you can get the features that you want. Go through this thread of a comparisons of BB features and then make it or have it made. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/59301-box-blade-photo-comparision-brands.html A BB is really not all that complicated of a tool.

I would be willing to help you with it--but I am a bit far away!! ;)
