    Default Tillers? Help!

    Dear All,

I do not know a whole lot about tillers and can use all the tips I can get.
I have 24.5 PTO horsepower and really do not need more then a 48-52 width (hot peppers). I have a hill but can always till going down hill. I will probably not use this more then 50 hours per year (at most) and so I do not need real heavy duty. Obviously I do not want it to break in the middle of a job either.

Relating to the things I have found out about these devices, some have chain drive, belt drive and gear drive. Prices range from about $1000 to $2500 and probably more. Some come from Italy and others come from Mississippi. This is about all I know about tillers!

If anyone could tell me what the differences are and any product recommendations I would appreciate it. I apologize for asking such an open-ended question.

    Thank you!

We don't do tillers here. WE ARE TILLERS! There are more threads lately about tillers than there are threads in my underwear, a lot (some are missing in my underwear, but they stay up).
I just got one for Sweet Tractors, a First Choice and it's made in italy. Lots of the branded models you see are also made in italy. I haven't seen one tiller get knocked it's just a matter of cost, features, size, etc.
Sweet Tractors has a website http://www.sweettractors.com/ and I have nothing but good things to report. I know Carver sells a lot and has an excellent reputation on TractorByNet. Happy tilling.
