How are these rotary cutters? There is a used one not too far from me for a decent price. I think it's two years old or so. I read that woods had gearbox issues in the past, does anyone know how they've been holding up recently?

Is this a decent cutter?

The brushbulls are very decent cutters. There have been some paint issues in the past but I doubt you could ever hurt a 48" brush bull unless you hooked it up to 50hp tractor.

I owned one for my JD 2210. I used it clear out the back 3 acers of my property. Mostly grasses, but it had no issues with the occasion 1 or 2" sapling. Plus a few Softball size rocks. It was a tank. I orignally bought it used before our house was built, and now that I was done using it, I sold it this spring for just about what I paid for it 5 years ago.

Thanks for the replies, I decided to pull the trigger on this one. It is in really good shape, $500, I couldn't pass it up. I was very close to dropping $1200-$1300 on a Frontier RC1048 or a Bushhog Squeeler. Going to take down alot of 1" softwood trees, so I figured why pay $1300 to beat up a new one when I can get a nice used one for $500.
