I am trying to disconnect the pto Shaft from the Danuser G20/40 PHD gearbox. I am installing a new shield where the gearbox connects to the auger. I need to take off the pto shaft to access bolts on that side of the gearbox that hold on to the old shield (New sheild update and part of old one is missing.

I took out the shear bolt and can freely rotate the the PTO connection but I can not pull or hit off from the gearbox spindle. Is there a retaining pin or clip on the pto shaft? Thans for your help. I have no owners manual and will be ordering one. If I could remove the plastic shield cup at the end, this would give me enough clearance. But I can"t figure out how to do this.

Nik,
On my TSC PHD removing the shear pin won't let you get the shaft off. The shaft stays attached and spins freely to keep you from slinging a loose shaft all over the place when you do break a pin.
Now that the pin is out, spin the coupler around slowly and look for an allen head screw(s) that hold the u-joint onto the gearbox. Loosen them up and it should slide or screw off.

sorry, that posted before I was finished.
Call Danuser. They want your rig to be safe. They should send you a manual and a diagram on how to install that new shield.

Called Danuser. They use a roll pin instead of an allen screw. I used a nail punch and easily removed it. The PTO shaft then easily slid off the gearbox spindle. There is a groove in the spindle which the roll pin holds onto. I took pictures and will try to post tomorrow. Placed the new shield without difficulty. The people at Danuser were very helpful and are giving me a new owners manual at no charge.

How cool is that? Glad you got it put on.
The first time I broke the shear pin on my PHD I couldn't figure what had gone wrong. I thought the shaft would drop off too. Lucky they don't do that! :D
