I have been thinking about purchasing a toothbar for almost three years now. Yesterday the UPS truck stopped at the end of the driveway with a new toothbar on board for me. Less than an hour later it was mounted on the tractor ready for use.

I put it to the test in a bank I was trying to liberate some gravel from. I was really impressed how much difference a toothbar makes when trying to dig in rocky ground. There was a small pile of stones from baseball size to basketball size mixed together previously it was very difficult to get them to go into the bucket. Now with the toothbar you can drive into the pile and the stones go in so much easier.

The bottom line is for any one out there who thinks they might like one don't wait like I did. They are all people say they are.

Not that it matters any at all, I purchased the WR Long flat toothbar through Carver Equipment, both companies were a pleasure to business with.

If you want to AT LEAST DOUBLE the usefulness of your FEL, get a toothbar. No need to say more. YES, it is a VERY SIGNIFICANT improvement for digging into anything but extremely loose material.

Another thing about a Toothbar is that it is also handy in popping and loading larger rocks. The teeth can be used to get under a rock with a lot less effort, then using the front edge of the FEL, and flip the rock to the surface. I have gotten to where I then do not even have to get off my tractor to run the teeth under the rock and slide it into the FEL.

Fran

A bucket without a toothbar is like a hand without fingers.

It's the same difference difference as a snow shovel vs a spade .
The only thing I use more is the pallet forks. :)
