I have recently purchased a Mitsubishi 210D 4x4 tractor. Everything is working on it, the problem is with the attachments. I am trying to find out about how high am I supposed to be able to lift a 4 foot king kutter bush hog and where should I keep it as far as height goes, are all of the lift pins at a standard height on a cat 1 tractor attachment. I can only get it 8 inches high with the lift, should this be higher? I also have a 5 foot king kutter box blade, how high should I be able to lift this, Right now it is about 14 inches off the ground.

Have you tried adjusting your top link? If you take it up some, the implements should lift higher. I have a short one for my disc and mowers and a longer one for my cultivator and middle buster to adjust them to where I want them.

Can't tell if you're talking about cutting height or height of the rear wheel when you're transporting it. Most bush hogs have a max cutting height of about 10", which means if you disconnect the toplink and raise the arms to their maximum height, you'll get about a 10" high cut. Unless you're mowing a sod farm you probably don't want to be mowing with the toplink connected- either use a chain or reconnect the toplink when you need to transport it.
What are you trying to do with the BB that would require lifting it higher than 14" off the ground?

I must be odd. I always cut with the toplink connected on my Bushhog. The cutter even has a sliding clevis type connection on top for that. I just leave the top link long enough to let it slide. I don't have a sod farm.

Welcome to the forum Dantegy. Everything is most likely fine with your tractor. The King Kutter rotary mowers 3 point configuration is a bit unusual and difficult for smaller tractors. The lift pins are mounted rather high limiting how much you can raise the mower. What I and others with the same problem have done is to add an additional set of lift pins lower on the frame. The original configuration is also rather wide so I mounted the new pins facing inward. Once you make this minor modification you will find it to be a good mower.

If you suspect your TPH or attachment needs modification to raise an implement higher we had a good discussion here : http://http://www.tractorbynet.com/f...raise-3-a.html
I got my RB max raise height from 8" to 14" by turning down the side pin attachment plates here. Originally they were pointing forward. |

I appreciate all of the insight, my land that i am brush cutting is in need of a lot of dirt so I have low spots. Last time i cut it I dipped down in a low lying area (with top link attached) as i went upward with the tractor, the attachment and tractor v'd into the trench and my 7/8 pin that connected my top link to the attachment snapped in half so I shut it down thinking that I just couldn't get attachment high enough, but after your replies and the contours of my land the chain sounds like my best alternative to the stiff top link connection. Thanks a lot.
