Hello All:

We have a chance to buy a brand new 2006 NH TC26 with full factory warranty (wife's brother owns the dealership so no worries on that issue). The tractor currently has a Woods LS84 FEL installed. They recommended a Buhler Y550 5' rear mount finishing mower. We have two lots, we currently live on a little over 3 acres and own a second 2.5 acre lot several miles away that we will build on some day. We have to mow all of it and already own a Grasshopper 721K with 60" deck (and 60" snowblower:p).

Any thoughts on the LS84 versus the LC96 FEL? It seems the TC26 has enough horsepower to use the more capable LC96. The FEL will be used mostly for landscaping (mulch, blocks, and stones).

The research I have done here and elsewhere on the web has convinced me Buhler is a good brand. My guess is my Grasshopper will cut more grass than this combination but I may be able to let the lot go 2 or 3 weeks at a time with the TC26/Y550 combo. Another nice thing about this combo is it should fit on our Nomanco 12' trailer.

Thanks for any thoughts.

You can not get a better mower than that Buhler. You would think it would be better known considering its top quality. I have been selling them for about 5 years, and the quality just can't be beat. I also have many customers that are leary about purchasing one because they have never heard of them. It is a top notch machine. Your loader question, really has more to do with the heaft of the tractor than the HP. The heavier tractor can run a larger loader even if it has less HP. Good luck on your purchase.

Thanks for the reply. Our nephew at the NH dealer was very confident in the Buhler brand based on past experiences in selling them. He made the point they my be more expensive but will last longer. Good point about tractor weight being more important than HP. I am pretty sure they have already added a weight kit to the rear wheels of the TC26. I will stick with the Woods LS84 FEL. I should get to drive it this weekend and make a final decision with my better half:) .

Thanks!!

Hi NHR,

Welcome to the TBN board. There are at least several of us here from the Bloomington area.
