Life is an adventure here was mine today.
I love TBN, I can evaluate equipment and find the best so easy. Pats ECS is a prime example. After reading many posts it occurred to me how important a tooth bar was; this coupled with my dad putting a dent in my bucket this weekend. (I think he is getting revenge for all the stuff I broke of his when I was a kid). We fixed the buckle in the bucket, and I decided it was time to order a tooth bar to stiffen up the bucket.
I chose the WR Long flat tooth bar. W R Long Flat Tooth Bar - BXTractors.info: The Kubota BX Wiki
First i looked for a local distributor, and was in luck there was one in town. I called and asked; he didn't have any and didn't seem to be wanting to sell one. I gave him the dimensions of the bucket, and he asked if I could weld. I said yes and he told me he had one I would have to cut down and re-weld the end--450$ Ouch. I was sure I saw more reasonable prices on the internet.
I called Carver Equipment Co, W.R.Long Loader Attachments
First I got a Secretary (?). I told her I wanted a price quote. she took my number and said I would get a call. When the phone rang it was Mr. Carver. What a nice man, we had a nice short conversation, I commented to him I hadn't heard a NC accent sense I was in the service. I told him why I called and he put me on hold. Soon the parts guy picked up and I told him what I wanted, he took my number and said he would call back.
he called back and quoted me a price of (I think) 230$ plus shipping of he guessed 40$. I gave him the info and he started the process. I think he said about 2 weeks. I had to call back, my dad's measurements were off and the parts guy said "thats going to add some cost", I replied, "Compared to the price I was quoted locally, you can't scare me- just send it."
Thanks TBN, today you saved me about 160 dollars today.

I purchased that same type of tooth bar for my Kubota L3000DT a few months back from Carver. First I called W.R. Long and talked to them about their product. The person I talked to at Long was very helpful he gave me the run down on the flat tooth bar.

I called the folks at Carver and got a price from them and the suspected shipping cost. For a 58" wide bucket the tooth bar was around $250.00 plus $45.00 in shipping. They told me I should see it in 7 to 10 days, it was dropped shipped from Long in North Carolina to my place in New Hampshire.

I think is was 8 days later the UPS truck stopped at the end of the driveway just after I got home from work. Within an hour the tooth bar was attached to the tractor and I had to give it a try.

I am very pleased with the quality of the product and the difference it has made in the performance of the tractor. I can dig into things so much easier now. The other day I had a rock in the field that I wanted to remove. I put one of the teeth down in beside the stone and rolled the bucket and it came right out of the gorund. With out the tooth bar I would have had to dig a big hole with the bucket to get at the stone.

You made a good choice.

Randy
