I just bought a 4 foot brush hog on E-bay. Good price, hardly used and piece worked great for the hour I used it. It was made by International World Agritech Corp, in Bethel, Ohio. I believe they are out of business. Anyone know where to get a manual on a IM 420? Is there still a dealer somewhere? Or am I royally screwed if this thing needs new parts?
Thanks, Jester

Too bad the seller wasn't considerate to have included the manual (it's more of a pamphlet really). But since that horse is already outa the barn, try calling World AgriTech at (513) 734-4317. That should solve any speculation as to whether or not they're still in business.

Hey folks, this site always comes through! Other folks with IM equipment, wow.
Just bought a pretty-good condition International Machines 42-inch bush hog that has been sitting around for 10 years; no manual, but its workings seem pretty straightforward, and price was very right, felt like solid piece of machinery. Scraped rust, repainted, going to sharpen blades, ready to go but one big question: Trying to see where a shear pin is on the unit. I imagine there must be one but where?
Looks like there's a bolt on the round disc blade holder, and also a small bolt on the axle that connects the PTO. Is one of those it? I don't want to damage the PTO on my new-to-me Kubota, and this being Vermont, yes, we do have rocks (and stumps). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's typically a Grade 2 bolt on the implement end of the PTO shaft. It's usually one that bolts the PTO shaft to the transmission input shaft. When that breaks for any reason, the PTO shaft will still turn, but the implement transmission will not.

I can tell you what happened to International World Agritech Corp. The business was run from 1980 to 2006 by a man named Robert Taylor out of Bethel, Ohio. He ran a manufacturing shop where his employees fabricated rotary cutters and other simpler implements, while importing cheap European models of more complex implements, such as tillers and hay mowers, usually repackaged under the WAC name. He decided to get out of the business and sold off most of his inventory to a few of his dealers throughout the United States, providing them with very cheap replacement parts for several years.

The head foreman at WAC, Rick Hughes, decided to buy out the facility and kept most of the employees and continued to make the rotary cutters, disc harrows, blades, and a few other implements under the name International Technologies.

But in 2008, as International Technologies went through financial trouble, it was absorbed into the Hawkline of Nevada Company, which produces short line three point equipment and small trailers seen at places like Tractor Supply Company. The same employees still make the International mowers at Hawkline's factory in Mount Orab, Ohio, near Cincinnati, with Rick Hughes still managing the "International" brand. Mowers made currently bear the logo, "International by Hawkline."

One of Robert Taylors biggest customers was Curt Howard Equipment in London, Ohio. They stock hundreds of International mowers at any given time, and have tons of replacement parts from the Robert Taylor buyout. Find them at C.H.E. INC: New & Used, Retail & Wholesale Farm Equipment.

I have an IM 502 5' mower. It does not have a shear bolt on the shaft but does have a slip clutch at the gear box end of the shaft.
