Have any of you had experience with a powered landscape rake. Landpride builds one and I was just wondering if they're any better than the unpowered version.

ig, i HAVE AN 8' gLENMAC/hARLEY POWERED RAKE AND CAN TELL YOU THAT OTHER THEN THE TRACTOR, IT IS THE MOST USEFUL PIECE OF EQUIPMENT YOU CAN OWN. tHE POWERED RAKES ARE INCREDIBLE. Opps, sorry just realized I had caps lock on. I think once one has a powered rake, it will find many uses. Tags on this board has one as well. I am looking seriously at the "72'' 17 series" from Landpride. I think the #'s are correct. The Landpride is one awesome looking rake. I know Harley Rakes have 2 different versions, one that does much better according to others. I think everyone likes the one with round carbide dimples. The Landpride has this similar type of design as well as large tires which I like. I was quoted a price of $4900.00.

it beats to have to get off whenever you need to move the rake from one angle to another. leveling becomes a cake walk because you can move material around in many direction in the same passage.
this attachment is the dream for a manual york rake owner like me. one of these days we will get one.

after we use a rock hound we very seldom have to hand rake.

if you do not want to buy or rent a rock hound at first, as to keep your overhead down. do a good job at raking the area with a york rake type (non powered). pick up the rows of rocks with a coal or manure fork ... this way again you do not have to do too much hand raking.

I have a Harley pro 6 rake and I have just installed a carbide tipped roller on compared to replacing it with the stock bar roller and I am waiting for my new machine to come in to try it,in the meantime I have been using a friends Cat skid steer w/a harley rake,it is much different than using one on a three point hitch but it works extremely well.If you have the doe to get one it is well worth it,just the time saved in labor is worth it and the things you can do w/it are just about endless,from grading driveways to stripping sod,or just putting in an everyday lawn and once you get the hang of runnin' it the only hand work is to drag a grading rake over the caster wheel marks and you really don't need to do that,it just makes the finished product look that much better.
