New Style Saw

That looks pretty cool, wonder if it works as easy as they make it look, or if it's just another good idea made into junk.

It looks "OK" but being a retired arborist I don't like the stubs the operator left on most of his cuts. The tree wound won't heal and it's just an invitation for infection or insect invasion.

The price seams pretty reasonable. Wonder if it would work on a mid size tractor?

I would want a pretty well armoured roll cage. Whenever I'm dropping wood with a chainsaw I'm thinking to myself "where do I run if this thing doesn't drop like I planned?". You really can't get very far from your tractor's seat by 2 Mississippi.

Yes! A sturdy steel safety cage to shield me from my own foolishness. That's exactly what I'm talkin' about.

Looks like a good way to get hurt to me. The dynamics of a falling branch are really hard to tell from that seat. :eek:Sure there is a learning curve.. But that learning curve might end with a burial plot.
Even with a good cage around or over you those branches can rotate and stuff you or your expensive tractor. It looks like a great idea if you were doing small stuff. Still the risk factor is right up there with high risk adventures or occupations. I would hate to hear of someone getting hurt and thinking to themselves "gee I didn't think that could happen!"

Sorry - it looks cool but i don't like the way it sticks out. It's a open invitation to a DOH! moment and break something by a simple turn. Also, as I cut my own firewood for the season, I don't like the idea sitting in the open on the tractor and lose a few seconds just trying to get up and run away to safety even if i had a protected cage. Sorry , I'd rather buy a cheaper portable pole saw that does the exact same thing. I see no obvious reason using the bucket mounted pole saw over the portable version other then having money to burn in the pocket.
