Stump buckets and 30 hp
I have a kioti ck30 and this summer I am purchasing a loader with a quick atatch bucket/fork system. I have been looking at the narrow stump buckets, and was wondering if anyone has used one on a CUT. Can I rent one for a day from somewhere or shall I just rent an excavator for stump removal? The stumps I would ike to remoe are 4" to 6" mixed variety, but I also have 7 cedar trees I would like gone. They range from 10" to 18" I realize a track hoe is the way to go, but I do not mind taking several months to do this because I would like to do them one @ the time so I can deal with the trees and limbs. I am planning a shop so a grinder might not be the best option.

Re: Stump buckets and 30 hp
I had a CK20 which has a loader almost as strong as on the CK30. I don't thing a stump bucket would have worked well for digging out stumps. I used a grapple which could get out small (2-3 inch) stumps but I had to work at it. To expect to use a stump bucket to just dig under the stump with a single motion and lift it out really takes a pretty strong loader and heavy tractor. I currently own a DK40se which is strong enough but the lift capacity is about 250% of what the KL130 has.
An alternative if you have forks would be to just get a QuickSpade attachment for the forks and just dig the stumps out (not in one scoop). Of course you can do that with a stump bucket too but I think the QuickSpade is a lot cheaper and easier to store.
