I was looking at an add for a Backhoe Model 4572 for 3000.00 I can find no reference of it on the Bota site. I did see one short thread about it on here but would like to know more info on it.

I assume it must not be made by Kubota.

Anyone know about the unit?

Thanks,

Tom

It was used with the B-series and is a three point hitch unit. Worked well!

Look on Kubota's website a the B7800 for optional equipment. I used to have one on mine. I have since sold it but may have some pictures. Pm me an email and I'll send you some.

Basically it's a 3 Point mounted version with it's own PTO powered Hydraulic pump.

Thanks Medic.. Think something like this is worth 3,000.00?

Typically, yes. Depends on condition. Hoses are fairly cheap and simple to change. Figure 25-50 per hose. Cylinders are more work to repack, figure again 20-50 per. Replacement cylinders are expensive 200-500 each. Control valves are not too bad to take apart if they are sectional and usually only need o-rings. Cheap.

Cracks in the housings are expensive to fix. The typical small hoe isn't worked hard enough or long enough to fatigue the metal - but still inspect it close.

I would say the price is good depending on condition. I would guess the average used price runs 4000-5000 depending where you are. I was trying to sell my tractor as a complete package before trading it in and had multiple people email me trying to buy just the backhoe.
You have no way of knowing the amount of use besides it's condition. I would want to see it in action on a tractor to make sure everything works as it should. The only problem I had was not paying attention to hoses and rubbing a hole in them. The hoses that come of the PTO driven make sure those hoses aren't rubbing on something when you hook up the tractor. Thats how I rubbed a hole in mine.

Thanks to all.

I will go look at the unit next weekend to see if it is worth the cost they are asking..

Thanks to all for the info.

Hey Medic, I actually have reservations about getting a small backhoe. Too many friends that like to borrow..... Can drive you nuts........... I am an easy mark..

Thanks medic..

When you had your unit, did you like it? I am interested but kind of wondering if I really want to buy this unit for my B2620. ...
