Where to buy used BH bucket?
I have a Woods BH80X backhoe with an 18" bucket. I would really like a smaller bucket for trenching for corrugated pipe, laying water line, etc., (something like a 12"), but the cost of new buckets is just too high to justify for the amount of use it would get. Does anyone know where I might be able to find used buckets to fit my backhoe? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Where to buy used BH bucket?
i work at an equipment rental yard, and we have literally 100's of buckets of all sizes; little bitty to something you could park your tractor in. we sell used buckets all the time. i would think any place that rents/sells equipment would have stuff like this, especially if they sell mini-excavators, which would use similar sized buckets

Rental yard was gonna be my guess too!!
CAT rentals here at home has about 20 different buckets on hand for their minihoes.

Re: Where to buy used BH bucket?
If it has the three words in it "backhoe, excavator or Dozer" it just won't be cheap!
Depending on how much time you have, try craigslist. If you have some welding skills you can make them. There was a decent photo thread on here about guys doing that.

Re: Where to buy used BH bucket?
Thanks for all the good ideas... I will try the rental yards. I look at Craigslist daily and have not had much luck there... same with ebay. I considered making one, or even cutting down (width ways) a wider bucket if I can find one. If anyone runs across one, let me know!

Here's a link to a Woods 12" bucket. It's on the RI craigslist under farm and garden.

Re: Where to buy used BH bucket?
I had a 12" and a 20, but i got rid of the 12" it was always packed full of soil in our sticky clays. It had to be vary dry weather to get any use out of it.
If you get one, look for one with low sides so the dirt has less to stick to. You wil be glad you did, Mine was a Bobcat brand, and it sucked. I like how deere makes their backhoes buckets for skid attachmnets, quite shallow.
I can get them from Wallenstein, but they are @ 800.00 - $900 new from memory. Not cheap.Dealer for Erskine ATI Wallenstein Baumalight Tracks Plus Dexter Axels & Wix.
