I bought my LK 3054 used with a front end loader. THe loader bucket has what looks like a tooth bar welded on it. It has 7 square holes evenly spaced across the front where teeth would go. Does this sound like a tooth bar and where can I buy teeth for it? Do the teeth bolt on?

THanks for your help.

They sound like holes for mounting a cutting edge. Bolt-on teeth usually have two holes to mount them.

Any chance you can post a picture?

Sounds like someone has welded a Bolt On Cutting Edge (BOCE) to your bucket. Does the bucket have holes that line up with the cutting edge holes? Does the bucket have two rows of holes? Unless the edge has shanks for teeth its not a tooth bar. As Kenny said '' pics would help answer your questions.''

Actually, you can get buckets with the weld on edge having been pre-punched for a bolt on edge. I welded on one like that to a bucket recently.

Also, bolt on tooth shanks come as one bolt or two. Depends on the shank

Took pictures today but can't figure out how to attach them. What are the square holes for? THere is writing on the blade, says J.P. Adams Indianapolis, IN. I am wanting to purchase a tooth bar, will it mount on top of this?

Square holes would be for carriage bolts, probably 3/8" (just a guess) and as previously mentioned might be for bolt-on teeth or again bolt-on edge.

One 'give-away' would be are the holes only in the bar or all the way through the bucket bottom as well?
If in bar only, then someone simply welded on a replacement blade and if all the way then it would be for bolt on teeth or teeth holders.

Either way you should be still able to add on a tooth bar because as mentioned tooth bars simply use 2 bolts to attach 'ears' to the sides of the bucket.

Also square holes indicate a factory made bar as few artisans are equipped to punch square holes, they'd generally simply drill holes.

Generally to order a tooth bar you need to provide the total thickness of your bucket edge as well as the accurate inside dimension of the width.

Good luck!

something like this?

not what you normally think of as a tooth bar... but should work just the same.

The picture below shows the way a normal cutter bar bolts to a bucket. The inset shows the double-edged bar bolted to the bottom of the bucket. As you can see, there are plow bolts mounted from the bottom up into the bucket. The plow bolts have a square shank below the head just like carriage bolts. It is possible that someone used a bar like this and just welded it inside the bucket instead of bolting it onto the bottom. It's also very possible that your configuration does not use the same attachment. There are many ways to "skin this cat."

Also the square holes go all the way through the bar. It looks like the bar ws welded on the bucket.
