Can anyone point me in a direction to find a tow behind 3ph for my ol' S-10? It would mainly be used for plowing snow. I would prefer to have one go directly into the receiver. I don't know if I would want to invest in a plow up front. It may be used for other things but plowing snow would be a main usage...i would like to have one that slides into a receiver so i could back into it. Nothing urgent. We have tractors to do the job, but need something for the truck to do. And my dad won't let me use the loader when he's not home because "I would get carried away, and knock stuff over with it."

Two things concern me about that Kyle,

1) It's $699!!!

2) It just doesn't look that strong in the photos. I'd be worried about bending it up. Your S-10 has more weight and traction than a lot of our compact tractors.

Oh yeah, did I mention that it's $699???

I think I saw a three point hitch attachment somewhere that was made to go into hitch receiver on a vehicle. plowking

maybe you could talk to your dad about building something. Maybe something modifying a haybale spear could work. you would have to make sure it was secured to the frame to handle pulling on it. But sounds like building something like that would be a good learning experience. I am sure that if you come up with some ideas and post them in the proper forum you can get some very seriously good help with it.

Get a used plow off craigslist.

It sounds like we could try to build one. We have the tools, but need the time. Modifying a bale spear sounds like a good idea. I could adapt 3 point connections myself, but then would need a lift. I'll post this in BIY.

Buying a plow seems kinda overkill. We would need to get it from wherever it is. And it probably has about the same price as building one. And building it is more gratifying.

Just a quick idea, do you think it would be better to adapt up front, and turn the blade backwards?

Farmboy I have never tried it so I dont know it was just a quick idea I had of something that might work. Someone in the other post will know more about that than i do

During school today, I thought of a way of completely building a plow and mount, that goes on the front or back, it can also be towed. This is actually so simple a design, I can build it myself. The materials will probably cost $50 because most of the parts are scrap. I can't really explain it, but I'll try to have Dad assist in designing. It isn't a 3pt, but just a plow that I may adapr other implements to.
